I've been promising this for weeks and after a day without the internet [not through choice] I got my reading bug back and finished this book in a day...

Here is the review for 28 and a half wishes. If you want to know what other books I'm going to be reading, check “My Reading List”.

Title: 28 and a Half Wishes
Author: Denise Grover Swank
Paperback or Kindle: Kindle
Pages: 277
Genre: Romantic-Crime
Time taken to read: Approx 6 hours total

Brief overview: Main Character Rose comes home after an argument with her mother to find her dead on the sofa. Her neighbour Joe rings the police from his phone for her and they strike up a friendship/relationship. They go through a journey of trust, distrust, love, meeting mob bosses and working through Rose's 28 and a half wishes. There are twists and turns along the way but I don't want to spoil it for you.

My Thoughts.

It took until Rose's mother died for me to gain interest in this book, and mainly because the story line in the beginning was lacklustre, also there was no clue beforehand about where this book was going, but everything afterwards had me gripped. There was a moment just over half way through where I began piecing things together about certain characters that I won't give away, and luckily my suspicions were right [yay go me!!].

What I liked about this book is at the bare bones, it reminded me of myself, a 24 year old woman who feels like she hasn't lived life to the full and wants to change.. and essentially, I'm a 24 year old woman who feels like she hasn't lived life to the full and wants to change – I'm just not dating my next door neighbour, have a gun in my shed, and my mothers most definitely not been murdered in the living room – All positives [my neighbour is 57 years old...and definitely not my type.

Would I recommend this book – if you like a change, or if you like the genre then give it a shot, it's also part of a series, which I cannot wait to read – and obviously when that happens I'll keep you updated.

I hope you enjoyed this book review, they're not often but I do like to slip one in there every now and then [get your minds out of the gutter people].
